    Windows Power Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 available

     

    The Power Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007 R2 enables you to monitor and manage the power consumption of computers running Windows Server 2008 R2. This management pack provides:

    • Visibility into power consumption.
    • Visibility and control of power policy.
    • Ability to lower power consumption during non-business hours to reduce overall power consumption.
    • Ability to limit power consumption.
    • Ability to detect excessive power consumption.

    Operations Manager 2007 SP1 Update Rollup now available

    Microsoft has just released the OpsMgr 2007 SP1 Update Rollup (ENU) – KB971541 to the download center.

     

    Here is a summary of the rollup contents:

     

    ·        Providing a rollup that supersedes nearly all SP1 binary hotfixes in a single package (~ 50 fixes) . See KB971541 for exceptions.

    ·        Adding Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2 support (See KB974722 which will be updated shortly to reflect the release of the update rollup fixes for SP1)

    ·        SQL 2008 Upgrade support for DB roles

    ·        Additional fixes, to point out just a few:

    o   SCCM Monitoring via the 64-bit agent in the latest SCCM MP. See the latest SCCM MP guide for details.

    o   Exchange 2010 MP support 

    o   Fix for Ops console crashes seen on Vista and Windows 7

     

    Localized versions of the rollup will be available shortly (FRA, DEU, RUS, JPN) by the end of this week. Tier 2-3 languages available on 11/20.
